Description

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing programs have new admission requirements beginning with the Fall 2022 intake.  These changes are to give students more flexibility in which courses they can take to meet the entry requirements to apply for nursing at KPU.  Entry to these programs will move from the current declaration model to an admission model whereby qualified students will apply to their program of choice.

The Bachelor of Psychiatric (BPN) program is a full-time cohort program. Psychiatric nursing students will learn psychiatric nursing theory, mental health promotion and wellness. Program courses are offered in a hybrid or online format. Learning is supported by practice experiences in institutional and community settings. Upon graduation, students will be eligible to apply for registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) and to write the Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Canada Examination (RPNCE).
