Who We Are
Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) is Canada’s leading public safety educator with a mission to develop dynamic justice and public safety professionals through its exceptional applied education, training and research. JIBC offers internationally recognized education that leads to certificates, diplomas, bachelor’s degrees and graduate certificates; continuing education for work and career-related learning and development; and customized contract training to government agencies and private organizations worldwide. Our pioneering approach to education emphasizes realistic simulations and applied learning facilitated by instructors who are experienced practitioners. Each year, about 32,000 students study at one of JIBC’s six campuses in B.C., through online education, and at locations in more than 130 BC communities, as well as sites across Canada and around the world. Our education contributes to safer communities and a more just society by providing professionals with the knowledge, skills and abilities to excel at every stage of their careers and make a difference every day.

Basic Admissions Requirements
JIBC offers several paths to career success, each one with its own set of requirements for entrance and registration. We recommend you familiarize yourself with your program requirements prior to submitting your Online Application Form. Applications for several programs will be submitted through EducationPlannerBC as of March 16, 2018. Not all programs or courses require applications; for some courses and programs, you can register directly through the Registration Office or online.

International Students
International Student Info
International students and organizations from more than 70 countries and territories have benefited from the customized courses and academic programs the Institute offers across Canada and around the world. Many of JIBC’s courses and programs are accredited to international standards, allowing our graduates to apply their education throughout the world.
English Language Requirement
The language of instruction at JIBC is English. All international students are required to meet or exceed the English language requirements for all certificate, diploma, degree and graduate certificate programs offered at the Institute. Students should be familiar with these minimum requirements, which are detailed in JIBC’s Admissions Policy.
