Congratulations to all BCIT Marketing Management students who participated and finished in top places across multiple competition categories at the 2025 American Marketing Association (AMA) International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans.
For the fifth consecutive year, the BCIT Marketing Association (BCITMA) placed in the Top 10 ranking of the Collegiate Chapter in North America. Competing against 320 collegiate chapters from Canada, the United States, and Puerto Rico, this recognition is a testament to the strength and caliber of BCIT Marketing students —including BCITMA President Benjamin Kravchenko, and Vice President Renée McGrath.
In the AMA Collegiate Case Competition co-sponsored by Adobe and Deloitte Digital, Case Leads Dominik Balino and Mahdiyar Saber, presenters Ren Whitelaw, Cole Thiessen, Julia Tabo, Gurnoor Tatla and Dominik Balino, and the entire case team members worked on a challenging topic for 4 months, and then successfully presented their case in front of sponsors in New Orleans in April, landing in third place.

Showcasing digital innovation prowess, BCIT School of Business + Media students also won first place in the Design Lab Marketing Competition, sponsored by JBL. Notable congratulations to Lucas MacCulloch, Nigel Davies, Kaysey Ho, Jacky Tang and Nicole G. In particular, BCIT students were able to construct a creative marketing strategy plan in response to the dynamic needs of today’s marketing landscape and effectively demonstrate their ability to work as a team.
Finally, BCITMA VP of Operations Lucas MacCulloch was awarded Runner-up Marketer of the Year. Following in the footsteps of predecessors, this is the second time this award has been given to a student in a Canadian post-secondary school. Congratulations to Lucas for representing Canada on the world stage.
Special thanks to Dean Kenton Low, Associate Dean Morgan Westcott, Faculty Advisor Erica Halvorsen, and Business Development Manager Joanne Chng of the BCIT School of Business + Media for their ongoing support and advocacy for our students.
