As the shared West Shore Campus nears completion, the four post-secondary institutions involved with the development have announced their inaugural programming offerings. The campus is a partnership between Camosun College, Royal Roads University and the University of Victoria with the Justice Institute of B.C. and Sooke School District also offering classes in the building.

Located on the corner of Goldstream Avenue and Peatt Road in Langford, the facility has been under construction since 2022, and was originally supposed to open in 2024. In May 2024, the four post-secondary schools in the venture announced it was aiming to open in September 2025.

PROGRAMS TO BE OFFERED

Camosun College has announced that three programs that will be offered in the new West Shore campus for the fall semester: the Information and Computer Systems Technologist Diploma; the Early Learning and Care Diploma; and the Health Care Assistant Certificate.

The Justice Institute of British Columbia will offer its Emergency Medical Responder and Primary Care Paramedicine programs.

Royal Roads University will launch three flexible undergraduate degrees in business and sustainability, applied environmental sciences, and social sciences.

The University of Victoria will offer its Computing Gateway program, which is the first two years of computing-centric degrees.

The Sooke School District (SD 62) says it has not yet announced its programming and plans to do so “closer to spring.”

The provincial government is footing most of the bill, with the estimated cost at $98 million when it was first announced. RRU is investing $19 million, UVic $1 million and $200,000 will be coming from Camosun.
