The BCIT Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) diploma program and the Advanced Safety Management certificate program are pleased to announce their accreditation from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

Based in the UK, IOSH has over 50,000 members across more than 130 countries and is the largest global health and safety professional membership organization. This accreditation ensures that the programs adhere to international standards for safety and health education, thereby broadening graduate career opportunities worldwide.

BCIT is the first post-secondary to be accredited by IOSH in North America. Students within both the diploma and Advanced Safety Management certificate programs are now eligible for Student Membership with IOSH. As well, BCIT graduates who have one year of professional experience will be eligible for Technical Membership with IOSH. Being a technical member provides networking opportunities and professional development resources that will be invaluable to BCIT OHS program alumni.
