Thompson Rivers University will be increasing its student housing with a new four-storey modular building at East Village, adding to the student residences and apartments located across the road from the main campus.

The building will provide space for 148 students with 80 single- and double-occupancy rooms. It’s being constructed using a modular approach that offers cost and time savings, and is set to be complete by summer 2023. All rooms in the new building will have a kitchenette and bathroom, and students will have access to parking spaces, enclosed bike spaces, and electric vehicle chargers. The housing project is funded by $10.85M from the Government of British Columbia.

This is Phase I of a three phase addition to student housing at TRU. The working being done now includes preparing the site for the second and third phases in future years.
