Vancouver Community College is launching a Mechanical Engineering Technician program. The program, which was developed with input from industry partners, prepares students for work as mechanical drafters and 3D modelers in British Columbia.

The program takes 10 months to complete and will also be available for students within VCC’s CAD and BIM diploma programs to take as a specialty.

“Firms are expecting a large demand for technicians,” said CAD and BIM department head Bruce McGarvie.
