For more than 40 years, Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) has provided students with the skills they need for the careers they want. We offer a range of bachelor’s degrees, associate degrees, diplomas, certificates and citations in more than 140 programs with opportunities for hands-on experience and experiential learning. Bachelor of Design in Graphic Design for Marketing
Our four-year degree program will teach you how to create branding, develop ad campaigns and study the business strategies behind every project. Diploma in Advanced Game Development
For you, video games aren't just a hobby. Gaming is life. Turn your passion into your profession through our Advanced Game Development program. At KPU, you'll receive hands-on training with the tools of the trade to find your dream job in the entertainment arts industry.
Advanced Game Development is a full-time, two-year, cohort program comprised of industry-level courses covering game development’s core disciplines: art, design, programming and production. Students will create various assignments, projects and games that will be assembled into a portfolio that is fit for working in the games industry.
Bachelor of Applied Science in Sustainable Agriculture
KPU is home to the only agriculture program in Canada that has all its 4-year degree curriculum focused on organic production. Your journey starts with the fundamentals, such as math, biology, chemistry, and geography, as well as concepts in sustainable agriculture and food systems.
Our sustainable agriculture program encourages you to connect your passions to whatever you want to do. From science and engineering to policy and business, knowing the challenges of our food system makes you a powerful force for creating a new, sustainable one. Program graduates find work not only in agriculture, but also in fields as diverse as planning and development, resource management, research, politics, government, non-government organizations, and other related businesses.

Basic Admissions Requirements
1. Qualify under one of our applicant categories:
- High School: A graduate of a BC secondary school or an equivalent school system. (Note: Proof of June graduation must be received in order to be eligible for Fall admission. High school students graduating in August may be eligible for Spring admission. High school students graduating in January may be eligible for Summer admission.)
- Transfer: An applicant who has successfully completed 9 or more credits above the preparatory level from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Mature: An applicant who will be 19 years of age or older on the first day of the term of admission.
- Aboriginal: An Aboriginal applicant who wishes to be considered for admission by the Aboriginal Admissions Committee on an individual basis. (Note: a supplemental aboriginal applicant package is required to be considered in this applicant category

English Proficiency Requirements
Undergraduate English Proficiency Requirement
All applicants to undergraduate studies must satisfy KPU’s Undergraduate English Proficiency Requirement through one of the following ways:
High School Courses
- Completion of BC English Studies 12 , English First Peoples 12 or Literary Studies 12 with a minimum grade of C+ (or equivalents)
- As part of the Adult Dogwood Diploma, completion of English Studies 12 with a minimum grade of C+
- Completion of IB (International Baccalaureate) English A (HL or SL) with a minimum grade of 3 (or C+)
- Completion of AP (Advanced Placement) English Language and Composition or AP English Literature and Composition with a minimum grade of 2 (or C+)
Undergraduate Courses
- Completion of 3 credits of undergraduate English (ENGL) with a minimum grade of C- from a recognized post-secondary institution where English is the primary language of instruction
- Graduation from a baccalaureate degree, or two-year diploma program, or successful completion of two years of study (60 credits) at the undergraduate level, with a minimum CGPA of 2.0, at a recognized post-secondary institution where English is the primary language of instruction
KPU Courses
- Completion of ELST 0381 and ELST 0383 (or equivalents) with a minimum grade of B in both, or ELST 0381 with a minimum grade of B and a KPU placement score higher than ELST 0383 level
- Completion of one of ENGQ 1091, ENGQ 1092 or ENGQ 1099 (or equivalents) with a minimum grade of C
Testing Options
- KPU English Placement Test (EPT) with placement into ENGL 1100
- Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL): Score of 70 or higher with no sub score less than 60, taken within the last two years from the term of admission
- Duolingo English Test: Score of 110 or higher, taken within the last two years from the term of admission.
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Test: overall band of 6.5 or higher, with a minimum 6.0 in each band, taken within the last two years from the term of admission
- Pearson Test of English (PTE): Score of 61 or higher, taken within the last two years from the term of admission
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): iBT 88 or higher, with no sub score less than 20, taken within the last two years from the term of admission
- Accuplacer: Reading score of 260, Writing score of 250 and WritePlacer Essay score of 6, or higher, taken within the last 2 years from the term of admission.
Vocational English Proficiency Requirement

Indigenous Student Supports & Services Info
Our Indigenous Services for Students department offers a variety of services ranging from assistance with scholarship applications, prospective student advising, assistance with admissions and application processes, academic support, to advocacy and referrals.
Our Elder in Residence, Lekeyten, works with us to provide guidance and support to students.
We offer an Indigenous Online Orientation program for new students as well as an Indigenous Book Club. We also have a bi-monthly e-newsletter featuring awards, events, success strategies, resources, etc.
